but i don't GET it (well i did get a job)

I can't believe my luck. I'm a total art junkie so volunteering at a museum is a dream come true. Unfortunately, the Denver Art Museum has a literal waitlist of volunteers. What's a girl to do? Enter my dad and his "connections." He knows the guy who helped start the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) here in Denver. And it just so happens that his connection hooked we up with an awesome volunteer gig. Every Thursday from 10-2 I'll be watching the galleries, answering questions and giving impromptu tours. Isn't the building GORGEOUS? It's basically a cube of grey glass, super sleek and modern. It's eco friendly too. It's been awarded a LEED Gold Certification (LEED stands for Leader in Energy and Environmental Design). Pretty awesome.

Not only will I be roaming around this beautiful building, I also FINALLY got a job. I'll be working in accessories at Nordstrom Rack. I'm still waiting to hear back about two positions at Nordstrom, but I'll take what I can get. The Rack gig is only part-time (12 hours a week) so hopefully I get something else and can work both. I like to be busy.

More fashion post coming your way soon. I've got my deb ball on Saturday (AAAAAAAH!!!) so I'll have plenty to write about then. I can't wait!

Christo (not a typo) and Jeanne-Claude

I survived my AP Calculus exam, thank goodness, but I'm on the run the next few days with interviews, more school work, and club stuff so here's just a super quick post to satisfy my blogging needs until I can sit down and really write something. I love modern art (I'm planning to be an Art History major) and here's my latest obsession. Christo and Jeanne-Claude are a married couple whose art, defined as environmental art, is meant to change the way you see the world around you. How? By outfitting nature in hundreds of yards of fabric.

Think of it as you will. I think it's a really cool idea. They raise all the money for the projects by selling sketches and other artwork. Sadly, Jeanne-Claude passed away last year so I'm not sure if Christo will continue with the works. So that's my food for thought of the day. Modern Art. Cool stuff.
